He reminded us what the 2008 plea deal actually did. Former federal prosecutor Alex Acosta gave Jeffrey Epstein a deal so lenient it allowed him to walk away and continue abusing girls for another decade. Then, Trump rewarded him.
Fudali represents a survivor who suffered from that “sweetheart deal,” a term Fudali says doesn’t go far enough. Because after the deal, a survivor he represents met Epstein.
He was wearing his house arrest ankle bracelet.
He was still trafficking.
Still abusing.
That deal didn’t just fail. It empowered him. And Fudali raised a question that refuses to go away: If Donald Trump was so adamant about stopping Epstein, why did he appoint Alex Acosta, the man who gave him that deal, to his Cabinet?
